New Westminster British Columbia - Just caught 2816 being
moved from New Westminster Southern Rail shops for a 11:00 press conference at Port Coquitlam CPR yard. Here are the pictures from
about an hour ago.
In 2816's consist there is mention of a 40 foot box car. This was CP 403390 (Not sure if this number was retained or not) up until
about January of this year when it went for refurbishing at SRY shops along with the 2816.
Those who know this car will recognize from it's faded silver color with the horizontal orange along the sides which would match a CP
Rail passenger consist. Under the silver paint is (was) very faint "Canadian Pacific" painted in maroon. This car was used
by maintenance of way. The interior was/is accessed through an end door and has hardwood shelving.

Just off Lougheed Highway headed for wye being pulled backwards
with crew looking to rear of 2816.

This car is now painted in the CP maroon with black ends and gold lettering. Two interesting and easily overlooked things to note are
the replaced wooden roofwalk (Authentic and a nice touch!) and also the steam line underneath which was retained but I don't think it
is used anymore. It will be used as a support car. The car was built in 1937 - D. Cooke
