High-Energy
Entertainment to Power CPR's Holiday Train for Hunger Relief
Canadian Country Music
Association Hall of Fame member Tracey Brown and Canadian country music award winners, the Ennis
Sisters have been confirmed to join The Moffatts as headliners for the 2004 CPR Holiday Train's
cross-country journey in support of food banks in Canada.
This is the sixth year CPR's Holiday Train will be taking to the rails to raise cash, food and
awareness for hunger relief efforts in North America. Starting on 5 Dec 2004, a special
CPR freight train, decorated with thousands of multi-coloured Christmas lights, will
roll into more than 50 Canadian communities to raise awareness and collect food or cash donations for
local food banks.
Someone who comes from deep musical roots as a member of the famous group, Family Brown, Tracey Brown
has put together a long list of musical accomplishments and hit songs. In addition to her
long-standing support for food banks, Brown has lent her talents to a number of
charitable causes, including the Red River Relief Fund, Huron Carole, Power Aid Concert, and the
New York Firefighters 911 Disaster Relief Fund. Brown has just finished a new album set for release
in January.
The Ennis Sisters first found success in their home province of Newfoundland before winning over
legions of fans throughout Canada with their distinct brand of folk-country music. In
addition to a Juno award and a number of other recognitions over the years, the trio was named Best
Group by the Country Music Radio Association in 2002.
International recording artists, The Moffatts, are back together after three-year hiatus
and will be performing their first live shows together on Canadian Pacific Railway's Holiday Train.
The group is currently laying down tracks for a new album in Banff and on the West Coast.
At the same time the Canadian train brings holiday cheer across six provinces, a second specially
decorated Holiday Train will be traveling across the six states in the U.S. Northeast and Midwest
stopping at about 30 communities. John Cowan, the former lead vocalist and bass player for New Grass
Revival and a former member of the Doobie Brothers, and Canadian singer/songwriter Patricia Conroy
will share the CPR boxcar stage for the 2004 U.S. Holiday Train. Prior to entering the U.S., the
performers on board this train will also entertain crowds at Cambridge and London, Ontario and will
do shows in North Portal, Estevan and Weyburn Saskatchewan, once the train wraps up its U.S. Midwest
journey.
The 2004 CPR Holiday Train is also pleased to announce that popular producer/entertainer Randall
Prescott will be back this year to oversee the shows on both trains. Prescott is one of Canada's most
awarded producers, with gold and platinum records to his credit.
CPR will make monetary donations to local food banks in addition to the food and money collected
along the way. Event goers are encouraged to bring cash donations or non-perishable food
items. All donations in a community remain in that community for distribution. Since its beginning in
1999, the Holiday Train program has raised close to 213 tons of food and more than $1.5 million for
North American food banks.

The Moffatts: Canadian Train
International recording artists, the Moffatts, are back together and will be performing their first
live shows on Canadian Pacific Railway's Holiday Train. As Canada's more seasoned musicians, the
Moffatts bring a wealth of experience to the stage. From private shows at the White House and the
Palace in Brunei to the first outdoor concert in Vietnam, Clint and Bob Moffatt have pretty much
seen it all.
In 1994 as members of the Moffatts (the youngest band to ever sign a major Label contract, 1994
Polydor Nashville) Clint and Bob tapped their country roots, sharing the stage with the likes of
Alabama, Vince Gill and Toby Kieth. Their self titled album "The Moffatts" sold close to
half a million records in Canada and the U.S. In 1997 the band signed with EMI Germany and their
first pop album "Chapter I A New Beginning" proceeded to sell multi-platinum
in over 30 countries. The band toured the world extensively for four years honing their skills as
live musicians.
The Canadian brothers, whose hits include "I'll Be There For You" and "Miss You Like
Crazy", last performed together as a band in 2001. Currently The Moffatts are working on a new
project, laying down new tracks for a new album in Banff and the West Coast.

John Cowan: US Midwest and Northeast Holiday Train
Possessing arguably one of the most powerful and emotive tenor voices in today's music, John Cowan
has penned 6 of 13 songs in a tour de force album, produced by Wendy Waldman, "Always Take Me
Back," a project which matches his vocals musically and lyrically. In his second solo release
for Sugar Hill, Cowan reaches down into the deepest recesses of his soul in an introspective,
cathartic, deeply autobiographical journey and ultimately triumphant masterpiece. "It has taken
me a long time to finally arrive at this place both musically and personally," Cowan admits.
"Three years ago I went on the road with some extraordinary acoustic players and realized this
is what I should do. I'd run away from the legacy of 16 years with New Grass Revival for so long; and
I finally realized that for some reason me singing with these instruments make sense."

Patricia Conroy: U.S. Midwest and Northeast Train
Patricia Conroy is no stranger to the world of country music. In 1990, Conroy released her first
critically-acclaimed album, "Blue Angel". The album featured many famous
Nashville session musicians, including Vince Gill on background vocals. Two years later, she
followed with her second release, "Bad Day For Trains", which featured the Canadian top
10 hit "My Baby Loves Me" and two number ones, "What Do You Care" and the title
track. The result was Patricia being named the Canadian Country Music Association's Female Vocalist
of the Year for 1994 and garnered Album of the Year status for her sophomore release (CCMA - 1993).
Patricia's third album (1995) treated country music fans to a string of eight #1 singles and five
#1 videos. 1998 saw the release of her critically acclaimed independent album "Wild as the
Wind" featuring the stand out single "Mary On the Dashboard". This success resulted
in the popular win at the 1999 Canadian Country Music Association Awards where Patricia was voted
Independent Female Artist of the Year. Since then, Patricia Conroy has been honing her writing skills
in Nashville, where she's had a great deal of positive feedback pitching songs to other artists in
Canada and Nashville. A new album is now ready - five years after the release of her last studio
record, "Wild as the Wind."
Randall Prescott: 2004 Holiday Train Producer
Randall Prescott is one of Canada's most awarded producers, with gold and platinum records to his
credit. He has produced for artists such as Patricia Conroy, Charlie Major, Tom Jackson and Susan
Aglukark. As an accomplished musician, he has also performed as part of the Prescott Brothers, the
Family Brown and Prescott-Brown with his wife, Tracey Brown. Randall's charitable work
includes several Red Cross fundraising appeals and the Power Aid Concert to help victims of the
1998 ice storm.
