CPR Reacts to Serious Train Crash North of Calgary
Calgary Alberta - Canadian Pacific Railway says
Sunday afternoon's collision between one of their freight trains and a minivan at a crossing on Highway 566 just north of Calgary was
preventable.
Spokesman Mike Lovecchio says trains have the right-of-way at crossings and drivers need to stop no matter what.
The driver - a man in his thirties - is in fair condition in hospital.
Lovecchio says it's not the first collision between a vehicle and train at this particular crossing, and in all instances, warning
signals were operating properly.
