Train Traffic Unusually Quiet In Area
Canadian Pacific traffic on the
OVR.
Petawawa Ontario - The rails have been mostly silent
for the last few weeks and many people are left wondering why, and this includes many local politicians.
There are reports that Ottawa Valley Railway has laid off 30 people because of the current economic situation.
These are answers that Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet hoped to hear for himself, but unfortunately the Railway isn't talking.
He explained to myFM that the lines of communication are usually quite open.
He says that he and Laurentian Hills Mayor Vance Gutzman would just like some answers so they can in turn explain to residents what is
going on with the rail lines.
The Mayors have asked the County's Warden to write a letter to OVR asking them to clear up any rumours, and get the
truth.
