Minot Police Still Seek Train Tampering Suspects

Minot North Dakota USA - Minot Police say whoever tampered with the controls of two parked Canadian Pacific Railway locomotives and moved them onto the main tracks last month also may be responsible for other recent vandalism.

Police are seeking suspects in vandalism at a Minot cemetery last month in which 28 headstones were knocked over. The damage is estimated at more than $10,000.

Sgt. Dave Goodman says those responsible for the cemetery vandalism may also be responsible for tampering with the locomotives and for a 1 Jun 2009 incident in which steel bars were placed on the railroad tracks.

Police say they're offering a reward of $1,000 cash for each of the crimes under investigation.

Goodman says the same people may be linked to other vandalism cases as well.
