Fake Train Smoked Out
Modified headlight and stack on Ex-CN 2141 of
Kamloops Heritage Railway Society.
Port Hope Ontario - Dan Christie's
13 Aug 2009 column "Our Trains, Their Tanks" on the subject of the CBC production of Iron Road has confirmed
my initial reaction to this farcical excuse for historical drama.
I had been looking forward to seeing this show, but quickly changed the channel when I saw that a dummy diamond-shaped
smoke stack was bolted to a fairly modern large steam locomotive in a childish attempt to make it look like the tiny
wood-burning locomotives the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) used in the 1880s.
One would think that since the CPR was the key player in this "drama", the producers could have at least got the star's
technical appearance correct.
