Stuck on the Tracks
Revelstoke British Columbia - This Ford Escape came
to a rest in the middle of the rail tracks next to Victoria St. following an unusual series of events on 8 Sep 2009.
RCMP say the 70-year-old driver pulled onto Campbell Ave. from a parking lot and then collided with with a parked pick up
truck before crossing Victoria St. and then shooting up a small embankment, finally coming to rest on the train tracks.
Revelstoke RCMP are conducting a mechanical inspection of the vehicle to determine if a mechanical failure of some kind contributed to
the incident.
A CPR spokesperson said the next train was scheduled to roll through just five minutes later.
