CP Joins e-RAILSAFE Canada
Calgary Alberta - Canadian Pacific Railway has joined
Atlanta-based e-verifile.com Inc.'s e-RAILSAFE Canada (ERS-Canada) workplace
safety/security management service.
CP will require its contractors and suppliers and their employees that need access to CP's Canadian properties to participate in
compliance programs that CP creates and administers via ERS-Canada system. The compliance program includes personnel
screening, safety, and security awareness, and issuance of workplace identification badges. Contractors and related personnel that are
required to participate subscribe to ERS-Canada, enroll in the appropriate program, and complete the required tasks to
determine their eligibility to access CP's Canadian worksites and facilities.
CP has a long history with the e-RAILSAFE program. In 2007, the Railroad became the sixth Class I to join the U.S.
e-RAILSAFE service for its operations in the U.S. Earlier this year, CP's Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad
Corporation (DM&E) joined e-RAILSAFE ShortLine.
e-VERIFILE.COM "provides innovative solutions that streamline workforce, contractor, and security management
processes for a variety of organizations and industries worldwide," the company says. "e-verifile.com Inc.
developed the e-RAILSAFE program in 2005, after it was selected by several U.S. and Canadian Class I's to help augment
safety and security at railroad facilities in the U.S. Since then, the service has expanded to include e-RAILSAFE
ShortLine (ers-shortline.com) and e-RAILSAFE Canada (e-railsafecanda.com).
