Roundhouse Redevelopment gets Provincial Taxpayer Assistance
Victoria West Vancouver Island British Columbia - The province
is contributing $125,000 to environmental remediation of the historic railway roundhouse property in Vic West.
Lands minister Steve Thompson says the money comes from a brownfield renewal fund, intended to facilitate urban renewal of old
industrial sites.
Specifically, the roundhouse property owners have a plan to devlope high-rise condos, with a street level market, similar
to Vancouver's Granville Island.
The owner says his firm has finished shoring up the roundhouse building itself, which will be retained as part of the
development.
