London Ontario - The City of London has put out a special call to home and business owners living near the Adelaide Street railway line to
attend next week's public meeting about construction plans.
The 10 Nov 2020 consultation will outline the timeline for the $58 million project and show the latest designs, including how cycling and walking lanes will be
incorporated.
The underpass will route Adelaide's four lanes of traffic beneath the train tracks, eliminating a long-standing irritant for drivers stuck waiting at the busy
rail crossing for trains to pass.
In a letter delivered to all local addresses, the city said cycling infrastructure will be built on Adelaide Street and Central Avenue.
It also anticipates a boulevard, plus improvements to traffic signals.
Public input will be solicited after this initial meeting for two weeks, a period starting 11 Nov 2020 and ending 27 Nov 2020.
Construction is scheduled to start next spring and will run until 2023.
