Historic CPKC Steam Train Rolling Into Union Station

Kansas City Kansas USA - The Empress 2816 steam locomotive, built in 1930, pulled into Kansas City
on Thursday as part of the CPKC Final Spike Steam Tour.
At Union Station from noon to 17:00, Saturday, 18 May 2024, visitors can get an up-close look at the train and learn
more about it, as well as the history of CPKC and the role of Kansas City Southern.
That event is free.
Mini-train rides, crafts, and other activities will be offered.
Since April, the train has been traveling cross-country to celebrate the one-year anniversary of CPKC.
