Vancouver British Columbia - There's bad news for people hoping to use transit to leave or arrive in downtown Vancouver this afternoon.
TransLink has reported that a power outage has caused the closure of three busy SkyTrain stations, Waterfront, Burrard, and Granville.
It means the Expo Line trains are turning back at Stadium-Chinatown Station.
TransLink spokesperson Jill Drews has informed the Straight that there are no service disruptions to the Canada Line, West Coast Express, and SeaBus, which all stop at Waterfront Station.
There is no estimate on when the problem will be resolved.
This means that buses might be especially busy, given the number of people who rely on rapid transit to leave the downtown core at the end of the work day.
Transit commuters can find alternatives on its trip planner page.
In the meantime, TransLink has set up a bus bridge to take passengers from Stadium-Chinatown Station to the three stations that are affected by the power outage.
