Rocky Mountaineer Creates Contingency Plan Because
of B.C. Wildfires

Vancouver British Columbia - Wildfires in the B.C. Interior are creating concerns for the company that owns and operates the Rocky Mountaineer train service.

"Due to the wildfires in the Cariboo area, the roads and railway near Quesnel have been closed, which may affect upcoming train departures on the Rainforest to Gold Rush route, which travels between Vancouver and Jasper via Whistler and Quesnel," the Armstrong Group states on its website.

"Should the closures continue, we will put in place contingency plans for the guests scheduled to travel on this route."

It states that the safety of its guests is its "top priority".

"The trains travelling on First Passage to the West (between Vancouver and Lake Louise/Banff via Kamloops) and Journey through the Clouds (between Vancouver and Jasper via Kamloops) are not affected by the wildfires," it adds.

"However, we continue to work with our rail partners to monitor the situation closely."
