Etobicoke Ontario - Crews are working to clear away toppled rail cars after a freight train derailed close to a busy commuter line near Toronto.
Anne Marie Aikins of Metrolinx, operator of the regional GO Transit system, says the CN operated train came off the tracks near a GO station on the Kitchener commuter line.
She says 10 largely empty box cars came off the tracks early Thursday morning before GO service began for the day.
She says no one was injured and no material spilled from the cars.
She says some of the rail cars toppled over, while others blocked the walkway to a neighbouring parking lot.
Aikins says CN has removed the upright cars that were blocking a walkway but is still waiting for a crane to remove the toppled cars.
CN did not immediately respond to request for comment.
