British Rail number 80135, running south from Grosmont, surmounts the grade upon entering the Goathland station. Trains are left hand running in Britain, the same as highway vehicles. Except... the Southern Railway, which was right hand running. Just to confuse matters more, some of the Southern engines in heritage operation today have had their controls reversed so they can run left handed.
