Another Glacier Express, but eastbound this time, has just crossed the Reuss River Viaduct and is about to enter the town of Hospental. As you observed earlier in the large photograph of Realp the Reuss River Valley here is quite wide. The right-of-way follows the valley with such a gentle grade that a rack section is not required until the ascent to Oberalp Pass east of Andermatt.
