Located at the northern edge of Andermatt the current MGB station is of modern design. Andermatt is the junction where MGB's east/west mainline branches off northward to Göschenen. This route, once known as the Schöllenenbahn (SchB), was merged into the Furka Oberalp (FO) in 1961. The FO was in turn taken over by the MGB in 2003. Before continuing with photos east of Andermatt the next shots display the route through the Schöllenen Gorge towards Göschenen, the destination depicted in the interesting title photo to this article.
