7 September 2011 BVZ Holding Verifies Renewable Energy
Zermatt Switzerland - BVZ Holding, together with partners, wants to use the potential of renewable energy sources in the catchment area of the railway companies Gornergrat Bahn and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. With the installation of an H-rotor to generate energy from wind at the depots and workshops in Glisergrund the project enters into its first test phase. The test lasts for 6 months and will provide further insight for expanding the project. BVZ Holding AG acts as the initiator of the project but not as an investor. Beginning in early September a trial rotor will operate at Glisergrund. The test phase will last until early 2012. The technology comes from H-rotor technology partner Envergate AG. The recovered energy is initially fed into the public power grid. In the future current could also flow directly into the overhead catenary used for railway traffic.
