Two trains "cross" at Harmans Cross. The green engine holds the Up platform while 80104 pulls into the down platform. The signalman on the platform left his signal box earlier to cross the line and hold up the token for 80104. Tokens are used to ensure only one train at a time occupies a section of track. Electrically connected machines in the signal box here at Harmans Cross and in the signal box at Corfe Castle release tokens as required for the movement of trains.
