This opposite view from the pedestrian overbridge shows a double-header entering Buckfastleigh from the south. I complained to the station staff about placing a diesel on the head-end and was told this was standard practice in the days of old. Small comfort, and decidedly, just plain wrong! Notice the semaphore signal granting clearance to enter the station platform track. The road beneath the train leads to the car park behind the tree on the left.
