The Orton Mere signal box lies just past the eastern end of platform one. It was originally located at Maxey Crossing while the lever frame came from Nene Junction. Installation of the signal box here required its lever frame be modified from one lever to three. The base was new when the Nene Valley opened the box around 1977. It controls the Orton Mere passing loop.
