Name: Lyd
Classification: 2-6-2T
Builder: Boston Lodge Works
Built: 2010
Built at Boston Lodge works in the style of the four Manning Wardle locomotives built for use on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway between 1898 and 1925. All but one of these locomotives were scrapped in 1935 (the last was shipped to Brazil and its subsequent fate remains a mystery despite many searches over the intervening years). Lyd entered traffic in 2010 wearing unlined black livery before being turned out in lined BR black livery in 2011. It is currently repainted into more authentic Southern Railway colours. Lyd is expected to see year-round use on the Ffestiniog Railway as well as low-season use on the WHR.
