This viewing platform north of the platforms gives a birds eye view of the HSB servicing facilities at Wernigerode. Tracks off the turntable in the lower right lead to an enginehouse. The left side of the photo shows a sand tower with an ash pit located in the track right of that. In the distance beside a coal pile are two blue coloured air-powered cranes used to load coal into the locomotives. In the far distance the pedestrian and bicycle overpass may be seen. A Malletlok rests by the brick tower.
