Kidderminster Worcestershire England United Kingdom - The Severn Valley Railway is still about £250,000 short of the full cost of repairs needed after the devastating summer floods two years ago, bosses have revealed.
 
But because the heritage steam railway is currently fully back in operation, funds to the Railway's Flood Appeal have been reduced to just a trickle.
 
Now they hope a fundraising event for the Railway's Flood Appeal this weekend will help raise some vital extra funds.
 
The Kidderminster to Bridgnorth steam railway suffered damage totalling £3.8 million during the summer storms of 2007.
 
The Kidderminster Toy and Train Collectors Fair is to take place on Sunday at the Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre in Bromsgrove Street, Kidderminster between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
 
Organiser Tony Oakes had planned to hold the event last year and to donate all the profits to the steam railway but was unable to arrange the venue on the date intended.
 
Now he has managed to book the event 12 months later.
 
Railway bosses with the Severn Valley Railway say they are "delighted" by the generous gesture because insurance settlements and grant aid to rebuild the line is still about £250,000 short of meeting the full cost.
 
Stall holders from all corners of the country will be trading railway models from all the leading manufacturers.
 
Admission for the event will be £2 for adults and free for accompanied children under 14.
