Well, here's a nice change of pace, Williams, Arizona. A tourist town surrounded by pine forests at a cool elevation. The Grand Canyon Railway (GCRY) is headquartered here and operates this large depot adjacent to the BNSF Phoenix Subdivision mainline. Tickets for the GCRY train ride north to the Grand Canyon south rim may be purchased here. The depot contains a well stocked gift shop too. Amtrak's "Southwest Chief" does NOT stop in Williams, instead it stops at Williams Junction where a van shuttles passengers to the Williams Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. The shuttle drive is reversed for those wishing to board the "Southwest Chief".
