Dampftriebwagen No. 9 was built in 1889 by Schweizerische Lokomotiv und Maschinenfabrik (SLM) in Winterthur. There were two non-driven axle rail cars (Bhm 1/2) driven by a pair of cogwheels below the transverse boiler. A second pair of cogwheels was used exclusively for braking. The water was carried in a shallow container within the frame. There were 11 of these rail cars built between 1886-1889 and in 1900 and 1909. They remained in service until electrification in 1937. Notice the outside flanged wheels. Number 9 now rests in the Museum of Tranport at Luzern - Data Georg Trüb - Photo 25 May 1967 Brian Stephenson.
