Being in one of the last cars on the train I never did get a view of the Falls, however, here's a shot of the dam taken from the train as it backed towards the Snoqualmie Depot. The dam provides a constant supply of water to the hydro electric generators via an intake and tunnel across the river leading to the gatehouse and penstocks dropping down to the power house near the base of the falls. The other intake on this side of the river isn't visible but that is where the vertical penstock feeds water to the underground chamber, Pelton wheels (probably now replaced by turbines), and electric generators. The large brown and white trimmed building across the river is the Snoqualmie Falls Hotel.
