Snoqualmie Washington USA - The 77th annual festival in Snoqualmie offers Railroad Days for an entertaining weekend during 14-16 Aug 2015.
Festivities begin on Friday with steam train rides that run from 11:30 to 16:45 on all three days.
On 16 Aug 2015 the Snoqualmie Depot will celebrate 125 years of service with a ceremony that features two of the Northwest Railway Museum's locomotives, city officials, museum staff, and actors dressed in late 1800s attire.
Visitors can take a speeder ride from the depot to the Museum's shops to view their restored equipment in a modern storage facility. The one and only Chapel car is nearly complete.
0-4-0ST Santa Cruz Portland Cement, formerly known as "Chiggen" and now sporting a small rubber chicken on the leading coupler, will pull three coaches, a combine, and an open observation. The recently restored Spokane Portland & Seattle wood side coach is very impressive with its dark red velvet seating.
A trip departs the Snowqualmie depot running to North Bend where the train reverses direction (without a locomotive run-around, air horns manned by an observant volunteer are mounted on the observation platform). Water is taken during a stop at the Museum's shops then the train continues right past the Snowqualmie depot without stopping until reaching Snowqualmie Falls. Once more the train reverses finally stopping at the Snowqualmie depot where passengers disembark. The whole trip takes about 70 minutes.
