You are looking at the west end of the machine shop at Ropley. Many smaller machines such as lathes and milling machines occupy the space behind the brick facade. The small door on the left leads upstairs to an education room where school children are introduced to the workings of heritage steam. A window inside overlooks the interior of the loco shed. To the left, a portion of Ropley Station juts out into the staff parking lot.
