Tan-y-Bwlch (tan-uh-bulk) lies about halfway between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Seen from the pedestrian overbridge "Blanche" is passing the cafe as she enters the protected passing siding where opposing trains frequently meet. Notice the red circular disk with black dots to the right. This is a signal displaying "Danger" indicating a stop. When it is turned 90 degrees to the right-of-way, or shows its edge, that indicates "All Right" or clear to proceed. The Ffestiniog is left-hand running obviously.
