An investigation is underway into a runaway train incident in Snowdonia.
The light diesel locomotive passed through several level crossings, through a station, past a danger signal, and into a single line section without authorization.
The "Vale of Ffestiniog" engine, which had been going down a 1 in 40 gradient (2.5 percent) when its operators realized they couldn't slow it down, eventually came to a stop on level ground after travelling 1.25 miles without being able to reduce its speed.
It had been travelling at around 10 miles an hour and came to a halt around half a mile from Beddgelert station.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has produced a summary along with a full and complete investigation report.
It says it will focus on what stopped it from coming to a halt, how it was maintained, and any underlying management factors.
The incident, on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway on 16 Apr 2019 resulted in no injuries, the RAIB said.
