Firefighters Rescue Wild Pony Stuck on a Ledge at Railway Station

Firefighters have rescued a wild pony that had become stuck on a ledge at Brecon Mountain Railway Station.
 
Two appliances and a rescue unit from Merthyr were called to the incident on Friday at around 10:56.
 
Crews spent around two hours trying to recover the animal using line and rope rescue equipment.
 
A large animal rescue unit from Ebbw Vale was also called to the scene.
 
Firefighters were lowered to the ledge and a crew member helped to move the horse, which is believed to be wild, to safety.
 
A vet was called and the RSPCA was informed.
 
Crews left the scene at around 13:09.
 
Jennie Griffiths, Head of the Joint Fire Control for South and Mid and West Wales Fire Services tweeted, "A pony was rescued by crews using line and rope rescue equipment after he was stuck on a ledge at Brecon Mountain Railway Station in Pant at 10:56"
