A small station and single track platform are located within walking distance of the parking lot at the Big Pit National Coal Museum. The track connects to the mainline at Furnace Sidings. The second parallel track barely visible at the far end of the platform travels down the slope and crosses above the mainline on an overbridge to reach Furnace Sidings. It doesn't appear to be in regular use and sometimes stores rolling stock. When Big Pit Mine was in operation one track would be used for loaded cars out and the other for empty cars in.
