The Taurachbahn has operated full steam through the Lungau region for 25 years.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Taurachbahn, which will be celebrated from 15 to 18 Aug 2013, Lungau region citizen Wolfgang Hojna-Leidolf has drawn up a booklet.
The content is adapted to this anniversary and deals with the history of the Taurachbahn since the former district chief, Dr. Robert Kissela, handed over the concession certificate in 1988.
Another chapter is also dedicated to the Mariapfarr station and its renovation by Club 760 which was completed last year.
Anyone who knows Hojna-Leidolf's publications can see that the contents of the booklet is not a boring subject, but more an entertainment for the whole family.
Richly illustrated with historical photographs the booklet contains 36 pages of interesting information.
The booklet is only available at the Mauterndorf railway station during Taurachbahn working hours on the weekends.
The sale price of €5 is to benefit the preservation of the Taurachbahn which during these past 25 years has become a major tourist draw in the Lungau region.
