Multi-train operations were a real treat for the Taurachbahn Station Festival from 24 to 26 Jul 2014.
A large number of Taurachbahn volunteers, including a locomotive team that traveled from Saxony, delighted the visitors.
In addition to the regular scheduled train, one with only a locomotive and car, ran to Mariapfarr and back operated just as the Salzkammergut local railway would 100-years-ago.
On Sunday, both sets of equipment were combined to form an extra large train with a double-header.
The visitors were also pampered with sausage hot as a steam boiler, beer brewed with kettle water, as well as coffee and cakes.
Gerly's Hofladen, from Mauterndorf, had a table where Gerhard and Gerhild Kassar sold products from their own organic farms.
Dumplings, donuts, and baked mice... no !
Of course not real mice.
Only in Lungau do we call this donut a mouse, which is a common donut, only differently shaped.
Add cheese and butter and it tastes great.
Also, at Mariapfarr station there was something special.
Lots of liquor from Hansalabauer in Göriach, with which he has won all sorts of prizes.
He's got a lot of schnapps (brandy) with every flavour imaginable.
