From 22 to 24 Jul 2016 once again the Taurachbahn has organized a small railway station festival.
A lot of trains, steam, smoke, sausage, cakes, drinks, and loads of well-behaved guests attended.
Among the exhibited vehicles there was a sweet smoking steam locomotive!
The machine, built in Austria, was saved from an abandoned forestry railway in Romania.
The Taurachbahn volunteers affectionately call the engine "Draculine".
It's nearly ready for operation, however, it's still missing a few items.
Especially a service brake for the carriages.
With only a hand brake it's not safe enough for the Taurachbahn, and the authorities of course.
In other words, the locomotive does not get to run.
One highlight was breakfast at the Mariapfarr station with the local traditional costume band.
