Welshpool Powys Wales United Kingdom - "Everyone was in really good spirits and the weather worked out well for us, it was gorgeous which certainly helps."
The sun shone as hundreds of smiling faces enjoyed the colourful festivities of Welshpool's annual Bank Holiday carnival.
Councillor Kaye added, "I met the Queen off the train, the carnival queen that is. The parade was superb, and it was wonderful to see all those many people out enjoying themselves in the town because that means money's being spent in Welshpool. I have to say a big well done to the carnival committee who've done a fantastic job of organizing another brilliant carnival for Welshpool."
The day got started as this year's carnival queen Sian Williams and her attendants arrived to the event in style, on board the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, in time for the procession.
The field was packed with various attractions and entertainment including fairground rides, bouncy castle inflatables, ferret racing, donkey derby, donkey rides, quad bikes, and the main arena featured performances from Cambria Band, Eleri Willson, and a dancing showcase.
