The Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway was completed in 1886 then taken over by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1905 as a subsidiary retaining its name. E&N Railfreight was CP's last ditch attempt to make the Vancouver Island line profitable before selling it in 1999 to Rail America. These are two E&N locomotives. 3004 is still wearing the E&N Railfreight paint scheme while 3005 has been partially repainted and re-lettered. 3004 is presently working at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, while 3005 was rebuilt into a special maintenance of way locomotive numbered CP 403012. The photo was taken beneath the SkyTrain line in New Westminster.
