Train Derails at Low Speed in Tacoma

Tacoma Washington USA - A low-speed train derailment in Tacoma forced Amtrak passengers to finish their Portland-Seattle-Vancouver trip on a bus this afternoon.
One car on an Amtrak Cascades train leaving the Tacoma station went off the rails at less than 10 mph, at about 12:05 p.m., said Gus Melonas, spokesman for BNSF Railway, which owns the tracks.
The accident occurred about one-quarter mile beyond the station, he said.
Information on the number of passengers was unavailable.
No injuries were reported.
