Work on the Charters Road Corridor project will shut down the road from 09:00 to 14:00 this week.
 
The District of Sooke said the work, which includes tree removal and site preparation to facilitate the construction of the transportation corridor, is expected to be completed by 14:00, Thursday (11 May 2023).
 
Tree falling could begin by mid-day Monday once bird surveying is complete.
 
Residents in the area will be permitted access to their properties while the work is underway.
 
The timing of closures was scheduled to minimize the impact on those travelling to and from school.
 
Those travelling in the area should plan to allow extra time while the work is completed.
