Moulting Seal on the Beach at Whiffen Spit

Another moulting seal.
In March this year an Elephant seal moulted alongside the Sooke River, but this one lies on Whiffen Spit.
Public assistance is needed to give the animal space and keep dogs on leashes so we can co-exist with our wildlife.
Yellow tape marks a restricted area next to the seal.
On Saturday, 13 May 2023, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans will be moving the seal to a more suitable location for the animal to rest out their moulting cycle with less disturbance.
Please provide space for the team to complete this work which will likely be completed between 10:00 and 12:00.
