Several Options to Pay Property Taxes

Property tax notices are in the mail and the District of Sooke encourages residents to use one of the online, mail, or drop off options for payment by the 4 Jul 2023 due date.

There are several options available:

  • Online Banking through Financial Institution;
     
  • In-person at District of Sooke Municipal Hall;
     
  • After Hours Drop-off;
     
  • Payment by Cheque;
     
  • Payment by Mail;
     
  • Payment by Mortgage Company.

Taxes in Arrears
 
Taxes in arrears (balance from last calendar year) are subject to interest under Provincial legislation. Properties with taxes in arrears will be sold on 30 Sep 2024 unless the taxes in arrears with interest are paid.
 
Delinquent Taxes
 
Taxes that are delinquent are subject to interest under Provincial Legislation. Properties with delinquent 2021 taxes will be sold on 24 Sep 2023 unless the delinquent taxes with interest are paid.
 
Interest
 
Interest on arrears and delinquent taxes is charged from 1 Jan 2024 to the date of payment. Please call the Municipal Hall at 250-642-1634 for the actual amount of interest owing.
