Deb Schenk is the new executive director of Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce.
According to a press release from the chamber, Schenk has more than 20 years of experience in office management and over 15 years of community involvement.
She specializes in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement.
Schenk served as coordinator for the South Vancouver Island Shoebox for Women, showcasing her dedication to community welfare for five years.
The transition follows the departure of Britt Santowski, the outgoing executive director, who is joining the BC Government in communications.
"We are thrilled to welcome Deb Schenk as our new executive director. Her passion for community, combined with her extensive experience, will undoubtedly drive the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce to greater success," said Mike Menard, chamber president.
