The photo shows half a sleeping car section. Each section was comprised of one upper and lower berth opposite each other with the aisle between. During the day the upper berth was folded up out of the way. In the evening a Sleeping Car Porter would assemble the berths as shown in preparation for bedtime. Curtains were all that separated the occupants from other passengers using the aisleway through the center of the car - Date/photographer unknown.
