Black Canyon lies railway west of Ashcroft. Another load of empties with a tail-end DPU (Distributed Power Unit) negotiates the canyon past his long abandoned and rotting wooden trestle. The country here is so dry the wood will have survived a long time since the trestle was abandoned.
