The CPR station at Winnipeg in 1884.
The CPR station at Winnipeg was built between 1882 and 1883. The original architect is unknown. On 1 Mar 1886 the building was gutted by a fire. In September 1886, William Charles Sorby designed a rebuild in a slightly different style, but based on the original floorplan, i.e. using the remains of the original walls. That building was later demolished, and replaced with the Royal Alexandra Hotel - 1884 William McFarlane Notman - McCord Museum.
