Spotlight on People W.G. Kennedy

W.G. Kennedy His Own Mini-Railway - This typical group of steam locomotives around a prairie water tank may start old-timers arguing about the location of the scene. Save your breath, gentlemen. It is not a scene from days gone by, but a result of the talented workmanship of W. Gibson Kennedy of Canadian Pacific Telecommunications at Trail, BC.

"Gib" Kennedy is a recognized authority on Canadian locomotives and rolling stock and is a regular contributor on this subject to the U.S. publication, Model Railroader. Not only does he build the equipment in many cases, but he prepares the scaled blueprints as well. His specialty is what is known as HO gauge, a scale of 3 1/2 mm. to one foot.

"Gib" has 60 pieces of rolling stock and several beautifully finished locomotives. The locomotives are all modifications of model prototypes purchased from Japanese manufacturers - in other words, "Gib" adds and subtracts to bring the model into correct design.

Inset photograph shows Kennedy working on a model locomotive, the tiny size of the engine indicating the painstaking delicacy of his work on his personal mini-railway.
