CP Locomotives Derail in Minn.

Gully Minnesota - No one was injured and no hazardous spills or property damage were reported in the wake of a train derailment in Gully Sunday night, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Scott Bixby reported that at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday the PCSO received a call from the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Two of the railroad's locomotive engines had derailed at the Polk County Highway 2 crossing in Gully.

The locomotives did not tip over and the roadway was cleared while one of the locomotives remained derailed, Bixby reported.

He added that crews were to continue working at the scene today.

It was not known at press time what caused the two locomotives to leave the tracks.
