Port Coquitlam - CP Rail Police are investigating why a
crossing guard arm was broken yesterday morning (Friday) at the train tracks at Kingsway Avenue and
Westwood Street in Port Coquitlam.
CP Rail spokesperson Ed Greenberg said witnesses reported seeing a semi-truck without a
trailer hit the crossing guard arm as it was coming down for a train, then back up and leave the area.
Traffic was diverted to one lane for about an hour while the damaged arm was being repaired.
"Our main concern was for the safety of the commuters," Greenberg said.
