17 Canadian Pacific Freight Cars Derail in Eastern Pennsylvania
Riverside Pennsylvania - Canadian Pacific Railway officials say it may take days to
clean up more than a dozen mangled railroad cars that derailed outside a Merck plant in eastern Pennsylvania.
At least 17 cars jumped the tracks around 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon near a railroad switching point by the Merck Cherokee
plant in Northumberland County.
No one was injured, and officials say the train wasn't hauling anything hazardous.
A crew from Buffalo, New York, has been called in to repair or haul away the damaged cars.
Around 40 undamaged cars were removed late last night.
